Don't you just love a picture of a sleeping toddler?!

We are on the run today. We dropped Fiona off at camp and then went to Nora's Gymboree class where the wee one ran around and played hard. Next up was Target for some groceries. I didn't want to go all the way home only to leave again to pick Fiona up, so that meant driving around. I was chatting with Nora, pointing out anything fun and there was silence from the backseat. I peeked through the mirror and found a sleeping girl.

Oh well, I get sleepy in the car too. Isn't she cute?!

Busy Girl!

Yesterday morning, Nora broke her recent habit of waking up at 5:45am, so Fiona and I had the morning to ourselves. It was a beautiful sunny morning, and the heat and humidity had not yet crept into Vernon Hills. After breakfast, Fiona, Casey & I went out to the patio.

While Fiona and Casey played fetch, I enjoyed a cup of coffee and took in the perfect weather. Eventually Fiona sat down on the chair next to me and we started chatting. I asked her a question that hasn't come up in a while.

"So Fiona, what do you want to be when you grow up?" After some thought she answered.

"Well, I want to be...a doctor. And a police officer, and a mom. AND....a princess."

So there you have it! The future Dr. Sgt. Royal Highness Fiona, aka "Mom."

Happy 4th!

"Parades are FUN, aren't they Nora?!"

We enjoyed our town's 4th of July parade this morning. We had a great spot, stayed cool in the shade, and enjoyed all the fun. The girls had fun and it was great to see their reactions. Nora loved the firetrucks and marching bands; Fiona loved catching candy and the cheerleaders. Good times!

We hope you are having a happy and safe 4th too!
