What a crooner

Easter Sunday was Fiona's 2nd Birthday, and everyone came over to our house for some ham and chocolate cake - what a great combo!

It was a very nice time, and Fiona had a lot of fun with her cousins. We have some pictures that we'll post, but first we had to put this video out here. It's from the night of her birthday, & I think it pretty much speaks for itself. This little girl provides us with 95% of our daily entertainment.

Our girl is almost grown up!

You will have to forgive this proud Mommy during this (long) post. I am nearing my only daughter's second birthday and finding it slightly overwhelming.

Fiona continues to grown and change every day. She is still very independent and likes everything done her way. I have NO idea where she gets that from. She is a funny little girl who loves to laugh and sing, but also has a stubborn temper in her. I blame the Irish/German combination of genes!

Here are some new "tricks" of hers:

-mentioned singing. She can sing all the classic lullabies: ABCs, Twinkle Twinkle, Baa Baa Black Sheep, Mary had a little Lamb, you name it. The words are very clear and some are in toddlerese, for example twinkle is actually winkle!

-she quickly adopts sayings that are entirely too old for her. She ran into the room to greet her parents the other evening and shouted "HEY GUYS!". Oh my word.

-running full speed everywhere and anywhere, usually while shouting over her shoulder "I'm running".

-making tea. She makes a lovely cup of tea with milk and sugar! Her play teaset is one of her favorite toys and with Irish/British grandparents she makes A LOT of tea. Of course, there are biscuits offered each time.

-sitting in a booster seat for meals rather than the highchair. I am sure a big girl bed is soon to follow, but I am not ready for that yet.

-walking up the stairs and down the last few without help

Here she is NOT liking a strawberry sundae from Dairy Queen. The shame!

Doing the stairs

Modeling this morning in her new Princess Fiona shirt I got her for her bday party at daycare

Stay tuned this weekend for her birthday/Easter pictures! Sniff sniff....

Cereal stealer

Now that Fiona can reach our countertops, we find a lot of items are stolen on the sly. Here she is helping herself to some sugary cereal. Yummo!

Sorry, bloggers, that we have been missing in action for a couple of weeks. Fiona had a nasty cold, which she kindly gave to her Momma and I was hit hard. I got a sinus infection and couldn't get off the couch for a week! Thank goodness Fiona was able well enough to go to daycare and to my parents house. I, of course, gave the bug to Jim and we suffered together all weekend while Fiona said "bless you" and "cough cough" over and over again.

We are on the mend now and promise to update the blog as soon as we can! Come on Spring!!!
